Country Meadow Meats is a small abattoir/meat market outside Owen Sound, Ontario. Our beef is not treated as a commodity but as a specialty that we can tell the story about.

Glynn and Keith Waterton showed me the carcass quality of the Gelbvieh breed when we custom processed some of their animals for freezer beef. We enjoy working with Gelbvieh cattle from local farms for our grass-finished beef program and more recently our non-GMO grain-finished beef program.

We have chosen Gelbvieh as our main breed for their quiet disposition, easy fleshing ability, size and depth of loin and yield of saleable adequately marbled tender meat.

ECGA 4-H INCENTIVE PROGRAM
The 4-H Incentive Program is designed to recognize the efforts of 4-H members who complete a 4-H project with a Gelbvieh heifer or steer. Eligible 4-H members will be presented with a monetary award at their year end achievement event. Names of eligible recipients should be forwarded by the respective 4-H club leaders to the Secretary of the Eastern Canadian Gelbvieh Association (see e-mail contact on Home page).
